5 reasons why your acupuncturist loves aesthetic treatments

It’s strange to say, but at first I didn’t think I’d enjoy giving aesthetic acupuncture treatments so much. The more I do it, the more I realize how much it’s valued by others, and how everyone finds different things appreciable in these treatments. And each time, my relationship with this type of treatment evolves, deepens and becomes richer. That’s why I want to share with you the discoveries and changes that have taken place since I began offering natural facelift treatments based on Dr. Travall’s innovative and proven approach.

1. It’s a privileged opportunity for contact

Touching somebody’s face, when you think about it, it doesn’t happen to us very often in our everyday lives. We don’t touch the faces of people we pass on the street. We don’t touch the faces of our friends or colleagues. We barely touch the faces of distant family members, and rarely those of our parents. In reality, whose face do we touch? Our children’s. Our spouse. And that’s about it.

Exploring intimacy by touching the face.

I find it a very intimate gesture that lets me into the other person’s personal bubble. It’s an act full of delicacy and respect. When I approach the person’s head at the beginning of the treatment, without really realizing it, my gestures instinctively become gentler and slower. It’s as if I’m entering another space-time. Time passes more slowly, my voice softens, and everything becomes more serene. It’s a moment of intimacy, and I perceive it as a privilege. After all, our face is a precious object. So it’s important to venerate it during a facial.

2. To reverse the effects of time that leave their mark on the face.

And observe the transformations that occur. The face is rejuvenated: chin lines soften, wrinkles are reduced, cheeks regain their volume, skin regains its elasticity, an aculifting effect is created, brown spots and other blemishes fade away! Very often, I notice a restoration of self-confidence and self-esteem. Appreciating one’s appearance contributes to being proud of the face we present to others, which transforms our attitude and our interactions with the outside world.

3. To see the smile and vitality on a person’s face when they get up from the treatment table.

It’s true that most of the time, as soon as someone gets up from the table after an acupuncture treatment, they have a blissful smile on their face. You can tell the person’s relaxed and at ease. But what’s really special is the smile and radiance in the eyes after an aesthetic acupuncture treatment. You can really see the vitality that has risen to the face, the complexion is brighter, and the skin is plumper. You can clearly see the physical and aesthetic benefits on the face, but you can also feel how much it has helped mentally and emotionally.

There is no cosmetic for beauty like hapiness.

4. Making a feminist gesture.

In any case, in my opinion, it’s in the feminist sense that I approach aesthetic acupuncture. What does it mean? Well, it’s about helping a woman regain perhaps the self-esteem she lacks, helping her regain a sense of empowerment and making her feel proud to show her face to the world. It’s about feeling beautiful and enjoying being proud of the way you look. Unfortunately, even today there’s still a lot of stigma around this subject.

Revealing the Beauty of Inclusivity through Aesthetic Acupuncture.

Through aesthetic acupuncture, I help women, men, trans people, non-binary people and the entire Montreal queer community to feel better about themselves. I want them to be proud of the way they look and who they are. For me, it’s a feminist gesture. Feminist in the broadest sense of the word, and not limited to the female sex. I do it for all those people who, like this particular patient, said to me one day as she sat down at the start of her treatment: “You know what? This week, I looked in the mirror, and I said to myself, “You, I love you.” Oh yes!!!

5. To provide two treatments in one

As I like to specify again and again, in aesthetic acupuncture, we treat the face, of course, but not only! Part of the treatment is always focused on the overall harmonization of the body. Whether it’s digestive, menstrual, sleep, anxiety, and many other aspects. Everything is taken into account! For example, if a woman comes in to treat acne related to her menstrual cycle, we can also work on harmonizing her cycle during the aesthetic acupuncture sessions! Isn’t that fabulous?

Killing two birds with one stone.

It gives me great satisfaction to be able to offer everyone a complete treatment and kill two birds with one stone. Yes, she’ll get a lifting effect, acne scars will heal faster, oily skin will diminish, and facial redness will be reduced. But above all, she’ll experience fewer menstrual cramps, less breast tenderness and less impatience before her period!

I’ve shared with you the feeling, satisfaction and pride that an acupuncturist can feel when performing a treatment that might at first seem only cosmetic. The more I do them, the more I realize how much it helps people in so many ways.
